about paintings
In my work I am often attempting to search for the thin line between figurative and non-figurative images. By doing this, on the one hand I want to let people free to explain my work as they like, on the other hand I hope they grasp the message that I try to communicate. I try to influence the direction of interpreting my work in a subtle way. But interpretation in this direction is not compulsory, the viewer can fantasize and give the painting or drawing his own meaning. It should not be explicit, if that was my aim, realism would be a better tool. In short, my art is meant to be a stimulus to make up your own mind, but it does not prescribe how or in which way. I value freedom of interpretation more than my own message.
