Sjaak van der Vooren studied interior architecture and graphic design at the Academy of Visual Arts in Utrecht (NL). He managed an architectural firm with other architects and worked as an independent graphic and 3D designer. The appeal of expressionism, and the Cobra-movement in particular, prompted him to start painting himself.

Engaging in creative work and discovering new techniques along the way is both fun and interesting. There is no commercial necessity or intent behind my work.
